For best results: dim the room for backlight-bleed and IPS-glow checks, set your display to full brightness for dead-pixel and uniformity checks, and give each test a few seconds — some defects only show up after the panel warms up.

What Can This Touch Screen Test Online Tool Detect?

Our display diagnostic tool uses different colors and patterns to make common screen defects easier to spot.

A dead pixel may remain black or fail to display correctly. Use the white, red, green, and blue screens to look for small pixels that stay unchanged.

OLED burn-in can appear as persistent logos, text, icons, or other shapes. Use fullscreen color patterns to check whether a previous image remains visible.

How to Test Your Screen?

Before testing:

  • Clean the screen.
  • Use fullscreen mode.
  • Set the display to its native resolution.
  • Disable Night Light or similar color filters.
  • Reduce reflections and glare.
  • Use a dim room for black-screen tests.

Different patterns reveal different problems:

  • White: dead pixels and uniformity
  • Black: backlight bleed and dark-area issues
  • Red, green, blue: stuck or defective subpixels
  • Gray: color and brightness uniformity
  • Line patterns: horizontal and vertical defects

Display different solid colors and look for persistent logos, text, icons, or shapes. If the same pattern remains visible across different backgrounds, it may indicate image retention or burn-in.

What Do the Test Results Mean?

A test can reveal a lot, but spotting a problem is only the first step. Learn what dead pixels, stuck pixels, uneven brightness, backlight bleed, screen lines, and burn-in actually mean, and when a result may require further action.

One or More Dead Pixels

A consistently dark pixel may indicate a dead pixel. If the display is new, check the manufacturer's pixel-defect policy before requesting a replacement.

Stuck Pixel

A pixel that remains a fixed color may be stuck. Run several color tests to confirm that it consistently behaves differently.

Uneven Brightness

Dark patches, bright areas, or cloudy sections may indicate uneven display uniformity. Minor variation can be normal depending on the panel.

Backlight Bleeding

Bright areas around the edges of a black screen may indicate backlight bleed. Judge it from your normal viewing position rather than relying only on photographs.

Permanent Lines

Persistent horizontal or vertical lines can indicate a panel or connection problem. If the line appears only in one application, check your software, cable, and graphics hardware too.

OLED Burn-In

Persistent shapes or text on an OLED display may indicate burn-in. If the pattern remains visible across different content, check your manufacturer's warranty or support policy.

Tips for Getting Accurate Screen Test Results

1. Clean the display before testing.

2. Use fullscreen mode.

3. Test multiple colors. Inspect the entire panel.

4. Use a dim room for black-screen tests.

5. Test from your normal viewing position.

6. Let the display warm up before checking subtle defects.

7. Don't press or rub the screen to fix a pixel.
